Shawn is a five year old boy who has been diagnosed (Sept. 28, 2008) with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia (ALL).  A little research showed that we can expect a 3-6 month initial ordeal that pretty much consumes the family’s with life with long hospital stays, repeated testing, readmits for more rounds of chemo etc..etc. After that, if all goes well, the sites said that to get a cure, it usually takes 2 1/2- 3 1/2 years.

The sites said that most kids life can return to somewhat normal with outpatient visits after the first 6 months. Anyway, this would strain the best of families in the best circumstances.  But the Bowen family is NOT normal! We are rising to the occasion to help Shawn beat Leukemia and help his parents with the strain this will undoubtedly put on them!

First of all…expenses.  On top of the obvious medical bills that are going to be pilling up, they are going to be spending an enormous amount on gas just coming to and from the hospital so much and taking care of the girls. They’ll also be eating out alot more.

The purpose of this site is to coordinate efforts to help them out. See the little CHIP IN  widget to the right? That is the way to donate money to help them along.
